My Reflection on Chromebooks

Hi, My name is Fusi, I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School and in Room 9. My teacher is
Mr. D. Nath.

This Year was an exciting year for me because I started using a chromebook  as a tool in the classroom.  I was fascinated by the thought of doing so many cool things on my chromebook but it took me some time to really start using it effectively. There were so many things to learn and tried my best to learn as much as I could from my teacher, whanau and friends.

When we have been learning about Chromebooks, I have learnt Cyber, Accessing the class site, Blogging, Keyboard shortcuts, Using google application like google presentation, Creating new folders and document, Taking a screenshot, and Using Sumo Paint.

These are my Reflection on What I Did

I have learnt how to change the colour of my documents and my folders. I learnt from my friends this year how to do a screenshot and to blog my work on the internet.
I learnt how to make an account for gmail and I learnt how to go onto different sites to find answers for the hard questions. I also learnt what the different shortcuts on the keyboard and what they were used for.

I have learnt how to use a Chromebook and to do lots of different kinds of things on it, like how to send images through Gmail, change my background and to blog my work on my site. I also learnt how to use a Chromebook is to take a screenshot.

I have helped my friends in class with their Reading and their Maths in 12 Time Tables using the different learning sites on the internet.  I also helped my friends and showed them how to look up words on google when they don’t know what the words mean, Searching up answers for work on her topic study and a bit of Punctuation.

I am able to do Shortcuts on the Keyboard and on Chromebooks too. I’m able to Use google application like google presentation and Creating new Folders and Documents, using gmail and sharing my work on the blog, Read books online, Putting my own Presentation on a blog and answers question by searching.

My trip to MOTAT

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit

Two weeks ago, the Senior School Students from Glenbrae School went by bus to the Motat to study about transport.

First we went to the hall and sat in our lines. Then Mrs Raj spoke to us. We waited for the bus. While we were waiting for the bus, we had a quiz on transport and we played “I Spy”.

When the buses came, Room 10 and half of room 7 went on the first bus. Room 9 and the half of room 7 went on the second bus.

After some time we reached the Motat. We assembled in an assembly room and had morning tea first.

After our morning tea, we went on a Tram ride. When we came back from the Tram ride, we went with the Motat Educator to a room to learn about road transport. We had to sort out pictures on different types of road transport.

Next we went back to the assembly room to have lunch. After lunch, we went on a self directed tour with our adult helpers.

Finally we assembled in the assembly room at 2:30pm. Then we walked to the bus and got on it to come back to school. We reached school at 2:45pm.

Lastly, I walked back home and dropped my bag on the ground and fell into bed and slept.
